Hard landscaper - Foreman
A fantastic opportunity has arisen at The Chelsea Landscape Gardener, sister company to The Chelsea Gardener and The Palace Gardener, London.
We are looking for a new Foreman/hard landscaper to join our project department which services private and commercial clients in Kensington, Chelsea, Fulham, Clapham, and Battersea. This is a great opportunity to help shape our ever-growing business in the landscape industry.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the foreman/hard landscaper must work a set number of clients on a rolling schedule, as well as jobs as they arise. The job is varied from paving, blockworks, concrete works and tiling, features, steps and water features. Preferring to promote from within, career progression is very possible within our team.
We expect all our employees to have strong communication skills, strong written English, be well presented, polite, hardworking and ultimately maintain our high level of client care. Working within this small and friendly team, this hire must be a team player at heart, with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and be happy to muck in and help out!
Requirements
5+ years across paving, decking, cladding, turfing, fencing and general carpentry
Ability to work to a detailed plan and maintain work schedules provided by the landscaping manager
Good communication skills across team members, suppliers, clients and designers
Able to maintain a safe and clean working environment as per company policies and safety procedures on site
Ensuring material waste onsite is kept to a minimum
Maintain in good and safe working order all tools, vehicles, plant, equipment and machinery on site
Hours of work: 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays Full UK driving license is also a must

About Us
The Chelsea Gardener opened in Sydney Street in 1984 and was established by the second generation of the Fenwick family. In the late 1930s, the family had established several nurseries in and around Essex and it was here that they developed their knowledge and passion for outdoor living.
Realising that London needed a one-stop shop to help people create the best of their outdoor space, no matter how limited in size, they took over the large site at Sydney Street that was once part of The Brompton Hospital.
The Chelsea Gardener today remains privately owned and the family continues to ensure that their original values are upheld: to provide high quality, inspiring products and plants alongside excellent customer service, ensuring that The Chelsea Gardener is a source and inspiration for those who seek imaginative new ideas for their outdoor living

The flexible and spacious indoor and outdoor areas also make The Chelsea Gardener a unique space available for private hire all year around. Guests enjoy a central London venue yet are transported by the surroundings to a calm and lush garden away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The Chelsea Gardener has recently extended its premises including a cosy Cafe where customers and visitors can take a break from the busy life and enjoy quality coffee, tea, pastries, homemade and healthy sandwiches, soup, and salads. The cafe also offers a selection of wine and beer, fruit juices, soft drinks and ice cream from morning to evening.
