Skilled gardener

Exciting full time permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic skilled gardener to join a small
team working on a beautiful private estate on the Suffolk/Essex border with established gardens and very large glasshouse.

The employers are looking for someone who is keen to progress and develop within the existing
team and support the owners in the planning, development and ongoing maintenance
of the estate and its gardens. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with the
ongoing and future projects.

The successful applicant will assist the Head Gardener in implementing the seasonal operations
throughout the gardens alongside gardeners and estate workers.  The gardens team are encouraged to work closely with the household staff and provide seasonal vegetables and fruit and cut flowers on a regular basis.

The successful applicant with need to have had a minimum 3 years’ experience in a gardening
position or similar, preferably within an estate setting; at least a Level 2 qualification in
Horticulture; competency in garden machinery and equipment use and maintenance.

A chainsaw license and spraying certificates are desirable.

Applicants must have good all-round gardening skills, be physically fit and comfortable working
alone at times. Working hours consist of 45 hrs per week.
