We are a beautiful private garden in West London and we’re looking for a new gardener to join our experienced team.
Our large walled garden has fruit trees, mixed flower borders (which are currently being renovated), trained roses and climbers, exceptional ornamental trees, and a blend of cut lawns and meadow areas. There is a small display glasshouse where more tender plants are grown and we are developing an area for propagation. We are very focussed on bio-diversity within the garden: using bio-controls where necessary, having large meadow areas and working to organic methods. It’s a great time to be joining us as the garden is part way through a transformation but with lots still to do.
Wherever you are in your gardening career, you’ll find an interesting and diverse range of tasks including pruning, training of climbers, mowing, staking, mulching, glasshouse work and some propagation. If you’ve only a couple of years’ experience, you’ll be joining a team that will be able to support you in your learning objectives within this very serene garden space. If you have more experience, this is a great opportunity to be just focussed on gardening and to demonstrate and hone your excellent gardening skills.
Successful candidates should have a level 2 qualification in horticulture (or working towards it) or be able to demonstrate experience within a similar type of varied, craft gardening role. You should be able to work under your own initiative and be a flexible member of the team. This role would suit a discreet individual, potentially with experience of working in a private garden previously. The role reports directly to the Head Gardener.
To apply please send your CV and a brief covering letter by using the apply section below, by 10am on Monday 22nd July.
