• Recently qualified or partially qualified gardener/assistant grounds person, with a willingness to learn, for large show garden for annual food festival Cotswolds-based Good knowledge of all stages of propagation, growing on, flora and organic veg Meticulous, organised, able to adapt quickly to what is required daily & weekly to seasonally
• At least 3 years experience in the field essential

We are looking for a recently qualified or partially qualified gardener to work under an executive gardener/mentor and alongside our long-term P/T gardener.

Our gardening advisor, considered one of the best organic market gardeners, is on site twice a week for one-to-one meeting and mentoring.

Applicants will need good basic knowledge of organic vegetable gardening in all its stages and a basic understanding of seasonal propagation and planting out - crop outlay vs. yield.

Comprehensive knowledge and management of ornamental borders, herbaceous borders, wildflower areas and speciality zones such as ferns and understanding of annual seed and bulb planting.

Some general help will also be expected with hedge trimming and some of the bigger jobs in the rest of the garden such as shared responsibility of mowing, strimming, and edging.

The house and gardens cover approximately 2 acres of ornamental and edible landscape. The garden comprises of 2 greenhouses, a polytunnel, cutting beds, some lawns and hedges, flower beds, ponds, and vegetables in the kitchen garden. The fruit trees – mainly heritage varieties – include apple, pear, cherry, gage, apricot, peach, quince, medlar and fig.

An interest in bee keeping would also be preferable, with a view to assisting our beekeeper as and when required.

Full time live-out or live-in option available. 2-bedroom accommodation TBD
