Grounds Maintenance Operative – Team Leader

JOB TITLE:       Grounds Maintenance Operative – Team Leader 

REPORTS TO:                    Contract Supervisor

SALARY:                             £12.06

CONTRACT/ HOURS:      40 hours per week, Permanent

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Lead a designated team in the provision of grounds maintenance services throughout the Parks and Open Spaces of the borough

Work as part of the team to deliver a quality service to our clients and customers.

Effective communication with your Team Leader, Supervisor, Manager and customers.

Effective, reliable and responsible performance of work tasks.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Experience of working in the landscape/maintenance industry.
• Responsibilities would include grass cutting, strimming, blowing, sports pitch marking, pruning, bedding, litter picking, weed control.
• Understand the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.  
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
• Able to effectively lead teams ensuring that productivity targets are met.
• Able to identify issues in relation to the work at hand and take the relevant actions to resolve them.
• Valid Driver’s Licence

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Hort level 2 required.
• Previous experience required of working in a similar role desirable, but a willingness to learn and work hard is important.
