The City Gardens Section is responsible for the management of the City’s green spaces; almost 200 gardens and churchyards within the Square Mile including prestigious sites such as St. Paul’s Cathedral Churchyard.

We are looking for a City Gardens Operative to work 4 days a week helping to maintain the highest standards in our award-winning gardens, working towards ensuring that our gardens are maintained to the highest standards for the enjoyment of the public and other users.

You do not need to have any gardening experience; we are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile person who is happy to work outdoors. The candidate will work one day each weekend and evenings, locking gardens and carrying out other maintenance duties such as jet washing and watering.

You will be required to work 37 hours a week over 4 days.

You will only work one day each weekend. 

The successful candidate will:

• Have a flexible approach to team working, be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative.
• Have a good understanding of Health and Safety.
• Be able to problem solve and use their initiative.
• Be able to use mobile technology to work on the move.
• Have a full driving licence.
