A leading  online retailer of horticultural products (wildflower seeds, native hedging, plugs and related products etc.) is expanding its B2B sales function and is seeking to recruit an experienced horticultural sales executive to drive expansion of the company’s direct sales channel.

 

This new role will  involve:

  • Expanding the company’s client base of business customers (such as local authorities and professional landscapers). This will require developing and fostering strong relationships with key buyers in the horticultural sector, travelling to meet potential clients, preparing and submitting quotations and tenders etc
  • Growing sales of the company’s products and identifying ways to expand the company’s product portfolio 
  • Technical support to management and customers.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a recognised horticultural educational qualification or have at least three years’ experience in the horticultural sector
  • Have at least three years’ sales experience, ideally in a B2B environment
  • Be keenly interested in horticulture and native species and be motivated to grow their knowledge and expertise
  • Be commercially astute and comfortable and competent in the preparation of sales proposals, product specifications and marketing materials etc.
  • Be an ambitious  self-starter,  who has the potential to take on wider and more senior roles in the business going forward 
  • Be a good communicator, with fluent spoken and written English
  • Be competent in the use of standard business software such as MS Office
  • Possess a full, clean driving licence.     

 

Location:

Primarily focused in a Bristol office with the possibility of some hybrid working. There will be  occasional nationwide travel to meet potential clients, attend conferences etc.

Package:

The salary is open to negotiation and commensurate with experience. There is a bonus structure in place based on meeting achieveable targets. There is a full package including pension, mobile phone, laptop etc.
