HEAD GARDENER

SALARY: £30-£40k depending on experience

All household bills (inc council tax) included

Very Experienced Head Gardener required to oversee and manage the gardens and grounds at a country Estate in County Durham.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, Professional gardener with scope to make significant improvements to the mature gardens and grounds.

The large gardens comprise areas of formal gardens, kitchen garden, walled garden, glass houses, Orangeries and extensive topiary and hedges.

Widespread experience and expertise in all these areas is essential as well as an open mind to learning new skills.

The successful applicant must be self-motivated with the ability to manage and motivate staff to achieve the highest standards.

5 years + experience as a head gardener on Private Estates or similar is essential. An eye for detail is essential, as is the ability to take responsibility, act decisively and being able to turn your hand to most tasks.

A relevant horticultural qualification is required or equivalent experience.

There will also be general Estate duties to see to and a handy man to manage, who’s duties include vehicle management, overseeing of property alarms and liaising with external contractors when required.

Recently renovated accommodation on site is available and applicants must be able to drive.
