Job Title: Creative Gardener 

Location: Ascot, SL5 

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum (plus discretionary bonus)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm. Some weekend and Bank Holidays required during busy periods. 

An experienced Creative Gardener is sought to play a leading role on a stunning and historic 200-acre private estate in Ascot, Berkshire.  

 

 

 

This position would suit a proactive, committed, and hands-on gardener who has demonstrable experience of working within a private estate or prestigious public garden.  Expertise in interior floral displays within stately homes and an excellent knowledge of flowers with an eye for colour, flair and sensitivity for the surroundings. Reporting to the Head Gardener, you will be primarily responsible for all internal floral displays when the principal is in residence and you will assist with general grounds maintenance duties as required when the principal is overseas. This role will also involve periodic visits to the London residence. This is a rare opportunity for a talented and passionate gardener to take a significant step in their career and to utilise their varied skillset.

 

  1. Preparation of all interior floral displays
  2. maintenance of balcony and patio areas at the London residence (periodic visits)
  3. Assisting with greenhouse management when required 
  4. Management of watering interior displays / plants when the principal is in residence 
  5. Maintaining House and Tropical plants 
  6. Working on various garden projects throughout the year 
  7. General gardening duties when the principal is overseas 
  8. Plant procurement and stock management 

Required experience:

 

  • Florist experience / qualifications
  • Experience with House or Tropical plants and have a good understanding of their requirements.
  • At least three years' experience
  • Full driving licence
