Our client, a Cambridge College are looking to appoint a new Gardener to join their friendly Gardens team.

Gardener
Salary: £20,641 per annum (subject to a Cost of Living review in August 2022)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks); requests for part-time working will be considered
Contract Type: Permanent, subject to six months’ probation

The successful applicant will report to the Head Gardener and will be responsible for the continued upkeep of the gardens, greenhouse production and helping with the ongoing design work and regeneration of the grounds.

The successful applicant will ideally possess a broad plant knowledge and have prior experience of working with a wide range of horticultural machinery. Applicants must be able to demonstrate good team working skills, organisation skills, as well as a good understanding of health and safety and the benefits of plants on the college and its users. A recognised horticultural qualification and PA1/PA6A spraying certificates would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.
