Gloucester is a City which is proud of its trees.  As a Council we are committed to developing and maintaining our tree stock in order to maximise the many diverse environmental and aesthetic benefits provided by trees.   

 

As our Environment Officer (Arboriculture), you will work closely with our open spaces and planning teams and be responsible for the inspection and management of the Council’s tree stock delivering our statutory duties in respect of tree protection. You will manage the Tree Preservation Order (TPO) and Conservation Area (CA) systems, including compliance and enforcement where breaches occur. You will also provide expert professional advice on all tree related issues in respect of planning applications.

 

You will have significant experience of tree assessment and maintenance together with experience of work related to tree and landscape planning legislation.   Forward thinking and innovative, you will be accustomed to working flexibly to provide great services to meet our organisational and customer expectations and be experienced at dealing with a wide range of stakeholders which may include residents and elected Members.  A professional qualification appropriate to the remit of the role is a must.
