Horticulture Centre Manager
Up to full time hours
Up to £30,318 per annum pro rata
This is an exciting opportunity to work at our Suffolk Rural campus as the Manager of the Horticulture commercial centre and curriculum facilities. You will be required to oversee the daily running of the centre in-line with the curriculum requirements while also having the opportunity to develop a commercial nursery provision onsite for the local community. You will be responsible managing a small team of staff, building a customer base and maintaining all costs within a planned budget.
You will need to have an organised and methodical approach to ensure the smooth operations of the centre in order to support the delivery of an exceptional student experience. You will be able to communicate and engage with a range of audiences, including young people and will have excellent organisational and leadership skills.
You should have a good standard of education including Maths and English at level 2 (GCSE 4/C) and a Level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant subject. You should also have relevant industry expertise, including knowledge and experience of plant propagation techniques, budding and grafting, and the ability to operate a range of horticultural machinery.
This post is based at Suffolk New College Suffolk Rural, however Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site therefore you may be required to work at and travel between campuses
