A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Senior Gardener to join the University Parks team dedicated to maintaining and developing the University Parks. The 70 acre University Parks is set in the heart of Oxford and provides a unique blend of amenity and recreational space. It is one of the few parks still in private ownership and is listed grade II by Historic England. It is much valued green space frequented by members of the University, local residents and oxford’s tourists, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

The team also maintain and develop over 250 external sites including most of the University’s green estate and many Oxford Colleges. This is an opportunity to work in a range of interesting environments with unusual plant collections. We undertake all aspects of garden maintenance as well as soft and hard landscaping and therefore operate a broad range of equipment. Previous experience in horticulture is essential for this post. You should be able to demonstrate familiarity and good skills using both powered equipment and hand tools. You should have solid plant knowledge, and a flexible approach to the work required.
