We are looking to recruit a Parks and Recreation Manager to join an existing team who are passionate about the development and enhancement of green open spaces for our community and visitors to Cheshire East.

We are seeking applicants with experience in landscape and open space management and a working  knowledge of environmentally sustainable maintenance practices to enhance wildlife and biodiversity in urban parks. The ideal applicant will be passionate about providing parks and open spaces for all areas of the community and will have experience working with local community and volunteer groups.

The post holder will be required to manage a small team that has responsibility for 19 municipal parks and other open spaces across Cheshire East. The role will also be responsible for the management of a Green Social Prescribing Project which will work with partner organisations to deliver health and wellbeing benefits through the use of open space.

The role will involve travel across the Borough and the post holder will be expected to represent the Company and build effective working relationships with a diverse range of people.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 years experience in a landscape design and/or open space management role
  • HND Qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field
  • Working knowledge of modern urban parks management
  • Experience of working with volunteer and community groups
  • Ability to develop medium to long term strategic plans
