  • A Mainly static role in Cambridge City Cemetery however, you will be expected to carry out work in other sites throughout the East Region when required
  • Full time permanent contract, 37 hours a week
  • Starting salary of up to £ 24,500 dependent on skills and experience

You must be a keen horticulturist, in possession of excellent practical knowledge and a broad breadth of experience. You will be hard working, highly motivated and enjoy being part of a dedicated, enthusiastic skilled team. Most of all we would like you to bring a proactive and flexible approach to the role and to integrate into the team.

Pesticide Certificates (PA1 and PA6) are required for this role, and the Commission is willing to provide you with the necessary support and training to gain these qualifications.

This is a partly mobile role, so travelling and spending nights out may be necessary at times. We pay for you hotel accommodation, as well as allowances to cover expenses.

We are looking for:
  • Demonstrable experience or training of at least NVQ2 or similar
  • An excellent understanding of horticultural techniques and plant identification
  • An ability to maintain and demonstrate the highest horticultural standards
  • An understanding of Health & Safety and knowledge of sustainable garden practices
  • Extensive experience with the use and care of a wide range of garden machinery
  • A good work ethic - reliable, punctual, hardworking and able to work in all types of weather
  • A full driving licence is essential
  • PA1/PA6 spraying certificates an advantage
  • The role is practical and hands-on and requires commitment and a decent level of physical fitness
