Founded in 1682, the Royal Hospital Chelsea is a national institution that cares for some 300 Army Pensioners at our historic site just off the King’s Road, Chelsea.
We are looking to recruit a skilled Gardener to provide effective day to day maintenance of the graveyard as well as assisting the other members of the team to maintain the extensive grounds and horticultural effects at this prestigious site.
The successful candidate will need to be well presented with a good understanding of horticulture and be able to organise and prioritise gardening tasks throughout the seasons. Your experience must include essential gardening skills to maintain the grounds to the highest standards. A strong plant knowledge would be desirable. The role includes the safe use of power tools including strimmer, hedge cutter, lawn mower and leaf blower so you must be skilled in using all relevant gardening equipment. The successful candidate will be required to work both independently & as part of a busy team maintaining the high horticultural standards & practices across the whole team’s operations. NVQ level 2 in horticulture and experience of working in a large landscape are essential. Full UK drivers licence is not essential but would be desirable.
