The Botanical Gardener, established in 2005, offers a complete garden service from the designer’s original concept, through to construction and garden maintenance. We offer a professional service for both private and commercial outdoor spaces, designing, building and maintaining a fantastic variety of gardens across London. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Horticulturist to join our team. You would be responsible for:

• Management of a large estate in Holland Park, and the on-site team of two full time gardeners, one day per week.
• Maintaining up to 3 gardens per day with the help of a Gardener.
• Implementing soft landscaping schemes for residential and commercial clients.
• The more experienced candidate would take on (up to) two days per week of office based planting design.

We are looking for someone hardworking, passionate about horticulture and possesses a good understanding of horticultural practises. Your experience must include essential gardening skills to maintain the gardens to the highest of standards. The role includes the safe use of power tools including strimmer, hedge cutter, lawn mower and leaf blower so you must be skilled in using all relevant gardening equipment.

Applicants will require the following:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in practical amenity horticulture
• Formal horticulture qualifications are an advantage
• A passion for gardening
• A good knowledge of plants, pruning, lawn care, pest and disease identification and treatment
• To be well presented and punctual
• Able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues

A full UK driving licence, CV and references are essential.
