Westonbirt, The National Arboretum is one of the world’s finest botanical collections of trees and shrubs.  With approx. 2,800 taxa and 15,000 specimens growing in 250ha of a beautifully designed and picturesque landscape, it is a Grade I registered historic park and garden, and Level 4 ArbNet accredited arboretum.  The arboretum is headed by Andrew Smith, Director, and our vision is to be a world leader in trees.

We have a vacancy for a Tree Operations Manager.  This role will directly support and report to the Westonbirt Curator, helping to achieve the highest standards of curation and befitting The National Arboretum. The Tree Operations Manager will co-ordinate arboricultural operations and grounds care, to maintain and develop the living collection and historic landscape in line with industry best practice, operational guidance and legislation. This will include managing a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, as well as contract management.

This is a very rare and exciting opportunity for a dynamic and passionate individual to join the Westonbirt team, in a role that is crucial to the ongoing care and development of our wonderful botanical collection.  As part of the Tree Team, you will help the Westonbirt Curator to meet our aims and objectives for the protection and enhancement of arboretum and nature conservation within.
