idverde is looking for a Community & Training Manager to join our successful team based in Hammersmith & Fulham.

The primary purpose of this role is effective engagement and liaison with a multitude of stakeholder groups to help deliver the strategic outcomes of the RBKC client and idverde. To set up and manage volunteer groups with a diverse range of organisations for example resident groups, friends, local businesses, groundwork, probation services and others.

Contract Performance & Delivery

  • Actively involve the local community in idverde’s Parks and Landscape Maintenance Services Contract
  • Create, update and deliver a contract Communications and Engagement plan
  • Create, update and deliver a contract Activity plan
  • Agree and deliver the Community Engagement KPIs within an Annual Implementation Plan
  • Work with idverde’s operations team to manage the RBKC park environment in a way that maximises community benefit
  • Use resources efficiently and effectively
  • Encourage resident-led change to green and urban space
  • Enhance Parks and landscape features as part of an integrated approach between idverde’s contracted duties and community or voluntary action
  • Contribute to the health and well being of residents
  • Protect the natural environment and biodiversity
  • Support the local economy
  • Encourage, recruit and manage volunteers
  • Develop and deliver the corporate volunteer programme as per the commitments made in the tender

Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment

  • Follow the Company’s ISO 9001 and ISO14001 quality procedures
  • Ensure that the Company’s Health and Safety policy is observed and implemented.
  • Proactively report any Health & Safety concerns
  • Follow the Company’s Environmental Management system

Financial Management

  • Secure external funding from a variety of different sources.
  • Where idverde lead on the implementation of community projects, manage internal and external contractors from project start to finish with responsibility for all financial management.
  • Achieve the agreed budgeted income from Corporate Volunteering activities
  • Price up additional works

General

  • Prepare and present reports to various Stakeholder bodies.
  • Assist the Client with the development of relevant policies and strategies including for example supporting the Bee Super Highway.
  • Assist on initiatives such as Green Flag, in Bloom entries, BALI awards, Keep Britain Tidy Awards

Knowledge and experience desired:

  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in Landscape or Horticultural related fields.
  • Extensive experience gained within a  Parks or horticultural environment preferably within a Local Authority or Housing Association environment.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety at work policy and practice especially in the management of volunteers, and in Safeguarding practice

About you… 

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people.
  • Able to work to financial budgets.
  • I.T. skills, practical experience of both Word and Excel software packages.
  • Proven knowledge of office systems and procedures
  • A full valid driving licence is a requirement of this role
  • Able to positively engage with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Able to resolve issues and disputes through a solutions-based approach
  • A good team player
  • Self-motivated and able to initiate new ways of working within a defined framework.
  • Capable of dealing with both routine and non-routine matters.
  • Pays attention to detail, particularly with regard to recording of information to be used by others.
  • A flexible attitude to work, including working at weekends and evenings
