Corpus Christi College is looking to recruit a multi-skilled gardener & grounds person to join our friendly and dedicated Grounds and Gardens team with a range of gardens and grounds across our estate.

The successful candidate will be an experienced gardener or grounds person, already with a wide skill set, who is looking to join a small team of experienced gardeners and groundsmen.

The role will predominantly be spent working at our two main sites in Cambridge, and will involve planting and maintaining new containers and gardens, maintaining lawns to a high standard, including mowing and edging, renovation, and strimming.

You will be involved in pruning, and seasonal care of hedges and topiary, weed control, both chemical and hand-pulling weeds when necessary.  There will be some tractor work, using a range of mowers and regular driving between our two main sites, for collections / deliveries, which will involve some heavy manual handling.

In addition, the ideal candidate must have previous horticultural experience working in a similar environment and exceptionally high standards or work.  We are seeing someone with good attention to detail, the ability to work in a team and on their own and the willingness to “go the extra mile”.

Punctuality is essential as is being a good team player, being proactive and willing to adapt to change at short notice.   RHS 1&2 and PA1 and PA6 certificates are essential. A clean driving licence is essential.

In return, you will receive a competitive salary, excellent benefits and conditions of employment, including a pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, car parking and use of College facilities.
