We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our Grounds team as an Assistant Head Grounds Person.

About Us

BCA is a popular and expanding FE college with a strong land-based heritage. We have an excellent record of academic and pastoral achievement and pride ourselves in creating a caring and respectful ethos where every student is important.

The BCA Grounds Department is responsible for the maintenance and development of our Agricultural, Equestrian, Horticultural, Arboricultural and Sports Facilities, set in 400 acres of registered parkland.

About the role

Assisting with line management responsibilities and taking the lead in the organisation of a wide range of daily maintenance, repair and project work, you will support the Head Grounds Person in the practical running of our Grounds and Gardens. You will ensure that college curriculum requirements are met and the college is well represented through the quality of the grounds care across site.

About you

You will be able to demonstrate a wide range of practical horticulture skills and have good knowledge of plants, soil and machinery. An excellent communicator, you will have prior experience in directly supervising staff. You will be a team player, have a willingness to work flexibly and hold a professional land based qualification to a Level 2 Standard.
