DIDCOT TOWN COUNCIL "Designated Garden Town" is looking for an outstanding Outdoor Services Manager
Ambitious Senior Manager to oversee the Council's Parks and Open Spaces facilities. Busy and demanding role managing eight outdoor staff working to deliver services across Didcot. Responsible for the Council's parks; allotments; sports pitches; play areas; skate park; cemetery; Ladygrove Lakes and the Millennium Wood. You will need experience in grounds maintenance with a desire to plan and deliver quality services. Awareness of health and safety legislation and environmentally friendly options. Management of budget and providing reports for the Councillors is an important part of the role. Attendance at evening meetings and some weekend working as required.
You will be based at the Council Offices in Didcot Civic Hall. Didcot is a designated Garden Town and population is due to expand to 60,000 in the next ten years. You will contribute to future strategic planning to ensure delivery of outdoor facilities as new sites and assets are devolved. A working knowledge of local government law and procedures, H&S Policy and management of risk in all operations. You will demonstrate knowledge of outdoor operational skills with a focus on biodiversity enhancements and climate change mitigation.
