Your Role:

Reporting to the Head Gardener, we are recruiting for a Gardener to support the maintenance of the grounds and formal gardens at the Hill Court Estate. You will be responsible, as part of a small Estates team, for maintaining the gardens unique features, including a topiary walk, a walled garden and water garden overlooked by a Japanese pavilion. Duties will include:
•Using and maintaining garden machinery;
•Propagation;
•Tending to fruit trees and soft fruit;
•Species specific pruning;
•Turf management;
•Pond and aquatic plant management.

Your Profile:
The ideal candidate will have:
•Previous experience of maintaining gardens;
•NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Horticulture;
•A proven track record of high quality work;
•An understanding of Health and Safety with formal training in manual handling and risk assessments;
•PA1 and PA6 chemical certificate;
•Self-motivated with a good work ethic, as this job will involve working in all weathers.
