Head Gardener

HEAD GARDENER REQUIRED                                                                      

SALARY £POA depending on experience

Experienced Head Gardener required to oversee and manage the gardens and grounds at a country Estate in County Durham.  The large gardens comprise areas of formal gardens, kitchen gardens, walled gardens, glass houses, Orangeries and extensive topiary and hedges so experience and expertise in all of these areas is essential. 

The successful applicant must be self-motivated with the ability to manage and motivate staff to achieve the highest standards. An eye for detail is essential, as is the ability to take responsibility, act decisively and being able to turn your hand to most tasks.  A relevant horticultural qualification is required or equivalent experience.   

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional gardener with scope to make significant improvements to mature gardens and grounds. There will also be general estate duties to see to, including vehicle management, overseeing of property alarms and liaising with external contractors.

On site accommodation in newly renovated detached property with private garden.
