Ascott Estate is a 4,400-acre rural country Estate centred in Wing, Buckinghamshire. The gardens are open to the public between March and September and are a popular attraction with 45,000 visitors enjoying the magnificent Gardens.

The Gardening Team Supervisors role
Working with the Head Gardener you will be developing your skills and motivating the gardening team including our volunteers. You will also be tasked with many gardening and assisting with maintenance jobs, from maintaining the vast array of shrubs and plants we have in the gardens to maintaining garden machinery. It will involve great attention to detail and ensuring all tasks are completed fully each and every time. You will be working a 39-hour working week with an early finish on Fridays, there will also be some need for additional hours during the summer months on a rota system. It also important to note you will be required to work in all weathers.
This is not your average Gardening Supervisor role and requires someone who is interested in developing their knowledge of plants and trees. You must be passionate about gardens and gardening and has worked on a large estate or public gardens.
You must be an excellent communicator and be able to supervise a small team in any environment.
You will have undertaken PA1 and PA6 Pesticide Application training, this is desirable but not essential. Use of a chainsaw would also be desirable, but not essential.
It is also important that you are confident to drive tractors and pedestrian mowers and have a good understanding of safe working practices in a work setting or garden environment.
To have a willingness to learn and develop new skills in Ascott gardens unusual blend of formal and natural gardens.
