Interior Plant Maintenance Supervisor 44623

Our client seeks an experience supervisor/foreperson or somebody with extensive hort expereinec who is ready to step up into Team Leading role. You will work as part of a team maintaining to the highest standard all interior plant displays at customer sites for the London area, which include a variety of prestigious business clients and hotels. Carry out various other tasks/jobs relating to the company field of work including short term hires and Christmas tree installation and removal. There is also a requirement to occasionally assist the exterior team with planting projects. 

We are looking for an experienced and reliable team player with an eye for detail and good plant knowledge. This is a practical yet customer facing role, so a friendly and professional communication is also required.

Full driving licence preferred, but not essential. Company vehicle is provided when appropriate.

Remuneration:                 £23,000 to £27,000 per annum

40 hours per week. Approx. 7:00am to 4:00pm, Mon-Fri (one hour break). Flexibility sometimes required for early starts/late finishes, dependent on job.

6-month probationary period

Additional hours would be paid at your hourly rate.

Holiday (pro rata):            28 days per annum, pro rata (incl. bank holidays)

After 5 years of service, an extra day will be added to holiday allowance for each year of service (applicable up to 33 days per annum, 5 years).

Main Tasks:

• To maintain interior displays at our clients offices/hotels/properties across the London area
• To help install new plant displays, live, artificial, short term hires & Christmas
• Driving distances in company vans to visit client sites when appropriate
• Changing specimen and base plants which have failed
• Prune plants as required
• Treat plants for pest/disease control
• Top up compost levels in containers and add fresh top dressing to containers
• Must be able to lift/carry bags of compost
• To complete necessary paperwork to each site visited
• Order replacement plants when necessary (via Operations Manager)

Supplementary Tasks:

• Delivery/collection of short term hires when required
• Delivery/collection/decoration of Christmas trees and accessories when required
• Assisting the exterior team

Knowledge & Experience:

• Have good knowledge of horticultural techniques and care
• Knowledge of interior specimen plants would be ideal

Paperwork

• To complete a timesheet on a daily basis
• To understand and work from schedules, project worksheets, and working rotas
• Must be able to complete job sheets and customer reports
• To file all paperwork using the correct systems

Health and Safety

• To follow company guidelines regarding health and safety policy and good working practices
• To follow customer/clients health and safety procedures and practices where applicable
• To develop a good working practices with others

Driving:

• Full driving licence preferred, but not essential. Company vehicle is provided when appropriate.
