We require an experienced horticulturalist with a passion for conservation, who will help run and develop our indoor large-scale forestry tree nursery with glasshouse.  This is a unique role which will give the successful candidate an opportunity to help grow a new business.    

About the Kilrie Trees 

Using a combination of geothermal heating, solar photovoltaic electricity and LED grow lighting, Kilrie Trees will produce a high volume of tree seedlings on a comparatively small land area. Combining this with our use of the Ellepot seeding line and paper pot cell system, allows us to provide our existing clients with industry leading establishment rates for our cell grown trees.

We will produce 1.9 million 20-60 cm, cell grown trees pa with the option to expand the site to 4 million trees pa after year 2. These high-quality, cell grown trees will be sold to clients we currently consult for new woodland creation and restocking plantations.

About the Role: 

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Tree Nursery Manager will be responsible for the production of approx. 3 million container grown forestry trees. This will include production planning and for overseeing all managerial functions including staff recruitment, health and safety, all year-round crop production, mechanisation, managing financial budgets, reporting to Project manager and liaising with customers.

You will have a key role in helping Kilrie Trees Limited build a team of motivated, forward-thinking individuals who will run and develop our indoor growing enterprise.

Candidate Requirements: 

You will have proven horticultural experience within a successful intensive container plant nursery, excellent managerial skills, a passion for conservation and a commitment to customer service.
