Sole / Head Gardener required for large property in Hampnett, Cotswolds.

A beautiful Cotswolds Garden of around 7 acres which has been beautifully enhanced with new planting schemes recently created by Jinny Blom.

The private family house and garden sit comfortably within a beautiful setting of rolling meadows and woodland.  Comprising a wide variety of styles includes fine perennial planting. The garden is further enhanced by container planting, wildflower meadows, shrubs, trees, orchard, herb, and productive areas. Organic methods are practiced where possible.

A competitive salary circa £28,000 - £32,000 is offered in line with Professional Gardeners Guild guidelines for 2021 which will reflect accommodation arrangements, costs paid for and experience. A delightful self-contained one-bedroom annex is available on site if required.

The owners are looking for someone with the demonstrable skills and experience required to share their passion and commitment to further improve the garden over a long period of time.

Desirable skills and experience sought:

Strong plant knowledge / passion for plants.

RHS Level 3 or equivalent (or studying towards perhaps)

Experience in all represented horticultural areas.

Organised with good time management skills.

Good communicator.

Need to be flexible and collaborative.

Ability to be self motivated and to work independently.

Oversee contractors and seasonal help.

Ability to operate all garden machinery and undertake basic machinery maintenance.

Understand the basic maintenance of the swimming pool, tennis court and biofuel heating system should support be required.

Must be able to understand and reflect the intended aesthetic of the gardens design.

Conscious of security and safety of young children at all times (DBS required).

Full driving licence and own transportation required.
