Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic person to join their team as Landscape Conservation Officer. With climate change and green spaces at the top of the Council’s priorities, this is an exciting time to join the team.

Reporting to the Landscape and Ecology Manager, you will be responsible for managing and implementing policies for our award-winning council-owned woodlands, nature reserves, and other open spaces appropriate to their habitat type.

Putting the customer first, you will be the first point of contact for members of the public on wildlife conservation and countryside issues, promoting public enjoyment of the natural open spaces in the borough.

You will develop an excellent working relationship with the Council’s dedicated nature reserve friends’ groups and volunteers.

You will join a forward-thinking council that puts their customers first. We know that to provide the best for our residents and visitors, we need to do the same for our staff.  We have set out to make our workplaces vibrant and happy places to be, places where our staff feel safe, content, and valued together with hybrid working.

Joining Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, you’ll discover a workplace where everyone is respected, supported, and empowered. If you share these values, we’d love to hear from you.
