Our client is an exciting and expanding garden and landscape design company, who teach and train their staff in the never ending quest for horticultural knowledge. They believe that gardens come from the plants and not from concrete.
A small but well established company of over 25 years, based in central London, nurturing beautiful gardens of private individuals. Servicing high end residential and some country estates.
In addition to your horticultural job, your role will include fulfilling paperwork, ensuring staff adhere to the highest of standards; organising your teams movements; arranging deliveries and estimating (after 6 months of employment) and liaising with clients.
Applicants should have:
Excellent horticultural knowledge, from plant identification to pest identification and from pruning techniques to plant care. I.e. to recognize the difference between a Borage and Foxglove seedling, between a woolly aphid and a vine weevil, an espalier and a fan-trained Apple
Exceptional attention to detail, be creative and have the highest standards of horticultural practice and tidiness
Be able to lead a team and motivate staff.
Be punctual, tidy in appearance and have good common sense.
Be able to communicate clearly with clients, staff and be able to keep records (fluent in written English)
A full clean UK driving license and be happy to work out of London with occasional nights away.
Package £30-35k per annum starting salary (subject to plant knowledge) with pay rise after 12 months.
Working hours 7am/8am to 4.30pm/5.30pm Monday to Friday
20 days holiday. 6 month probation period.
