Job Details

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time assistant gardener (live out) for a private estate near Banbury/Bicester, Oxfordshire. This position would suit an Assistant Gardener who is undertaking or newly qualified with the RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent. 

The large garden includes shrub & herbaceous borders, a rose garden, a vegetable garden (including trained fruit and cut flowers), lake area and established orchard.

Duties will include general gardening work, attending climbing plants, hedge trimming, pruning, mulching, weeding and watering. You will be required to work one weekend a month on a rota basis to attend to the greenhouses and check the animals (sheep/ horses). 

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and be able to follow instructions from the Head Gardener but also work efficiently on their own initiative. An ability to work to a high standard with excellent attention to detail is essential as is a passion for gardening.

This position offers a great opportunity for the right applicant to develop their skills and plant knowledge working alongside our knowledgeable and very experienced Head Gardener.
