Head gardener

Live out Head Gardener position.

Barrington Hall is a private estate set within 45 acres of beautiful parkland just outside Hatfield Broad Oak in Essex.

We have an exciting opportunity and are looking for a knowledgeable, hardworking Head Gardener to manage and improve the estate grounds and gardening team, working closely under the estate manager.

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in all aspects of the garden including project management and implementation.  You will have a strong horticulture focus, excellent plant knowledge, market gardening experience, practical skills, mechanical knowledge and experience in working on a private estate. 

You must have a proven track record in a leadership role and be hands on in developing a new team.

Full clean driving licence required.

Hours of work will be 40 hours per week, 8am, 4.30pm Monday to Friday with the occasional weekends if required. 

28 days holiday (including bank holidays)

DBS required.
