A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced, talented and organised individual to manage, supervise and lead grounds maintenance operations across parks, open spaces and amenity open space across Adur and Worthing.
You will primarily be responsible for a team based in Southwick and as a hands on Team Leader you will have significant experience in Grounds Maintenance work including work planning, organising teams, scheduling, quality of work and supervising and supporting staff. You will have good communication skills and be experienced in a customer focused role.
You will also need to ensure that all work is carried out in full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and hold IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent NEBOSH qualification.
You will also hold PA1 and PA6A spraying qualifications and it is essential that you hold a current manual driving licence as you will be required to drive commercial vehicles and mowing equipment on a daily basis. As team leader you will be experienced in using a wide range of hand held, pedestrian and ride on grounds maintenance equipment..
Reporting to the Assistant Parks and Open Spaces Manager you will be responsible for two small teams of grounds maintenance operatives as part of a mobile grounds maintenance service maintaining sites across Adur and Worthing.
The successful applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be computer literate ideally with Google Suite PC applications.
You will be expected to work outdoors throughout the seasons. You will have a demonstrable positive approach and take pride in the work that we do. You will be able to demonstrate high standards of behaviour and professionalism in dealing with the public.
