Job Details

Warwickshire College Group has an excellent reputation for vocational education & training. This, coupled with the continued success of industrial partnerships with national and local land-based companies, and employers, has led to an expansion in both the range and provision of land-based programmes.

In our determination to develop further both our service and responsiveness to local, regional and national industry we are seeking an enthusiastic individual to work closely with both the teaching and the work-based learning teams to develop industrial links, provide training and assessment of apprentices in horticulture. The post-holder will be a member of work based learning team (land based) and be based at our Pershore Campus.

Main Tasks

  • To develop the skills of apprentices within the area of Horticulture, in particular hard landscaping, surveying and setting out.

  • To be able to guide and support apprentices, from their initial enquiry to completion of their study programme. To mentor, coach and assess learners to complete their qualification successfully.

  • To be able to mentor individual candidates and monitor their academic and vocational progress, by carrying out formal progress reviews with individuals and their employers.

  • To be able to carry out formal assessments; support the learners with generating evidence and completing all necessary portfolio paperwork, including referencing of evidence and presenting portfolio for internal and external verification.

  • To be responsible for checking the completion of Apprenticeship standards; to include Employer rights and responsibilities, delivering and completing personal 

    completion of functional skills, independent assessment and all elements of the apprenticeship.

  • To ensure all apprentices are aware of the Health & Safety Guidelines.

  • To ensure apprentice tracking is kept up to date.

  • Monitor and report on apprentice’s progress.
