• Recently qualified or partially qualified gardener/assistant grounds person with a willingness to learn for large family and show garden for annual food and music festival

• Meticulous, Organised, able to adapt quickly to what is required weekly and seasonally

We are looking for a recently qualified or partially qualified gardener to work under an executive gardener/mentor. Our gardening advisor is considered to be one of the best organic market gardeners in the country and is on site twice a week for a one-to-one meeting and mentoring.

Applicants will need a good, basic knowledge of organic vegetable gardening, in all its stages and a basic understanding of seasonal propagation - crop outlay v’s yield. 

Some general help will also be expected with hedge trimming and some of the bigger jobs in the rest of the garden such as shared responsibility of mowing and strimming.

The house and gardens cover approximately 4.5 acres of ornamental and edible landscape. The garden comprises of 2 greenhouses, cutting beds, some lawns and hedges, flower beds, ponds as well as the vegetables. The fruit trees, mainly heritage varieties include apple, pear, cherry, gage, apricot, peach, quince, medlar and fig.

Full time permanent position with variety of live-in options available.

Applicants will need to be able to drive and ideally have their own car. 

Salary dependant on experience and qualifications.
