The main purpose of the role is to assist the Regional Director/Senior Operations Managers in the efficient management of the department/operation, ensuring all financial, quality and customer service targets are consistently met. You will report into the Regional Director & Senior Operations Manager.

Operational; existing projects and contracts

Operational delivery; The OM will have responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered both on time, on budget and as per contractual specification. The OM will also ensure that projects are delivered in line with our clients financial management and quality requirements. Post installation the OM would be responsible for the creation of the O&M Manual.

Customer services; The OM will also have overall responsibility for ensuring best in sector customer service is delivered throughout the region. The OM will ensure projects are delivered professionally and any remedial works are undertaken quickly to the clients satisfaction.

Financial Management; the OM will have responsibility for ensuring the financial integrity of projects across the region.  This will involve effective resource scheduling and appropriate procurement of goods and services for projects aligned to project orders.

Prestart processes; the OM will have overall responsibility for ensuring the agreed prestart processes are employed within the department. The OM will ensure that an effective site survey is undertaken prior to project commencement and that all site-specific risk assessments, method statements and specific site instructions are in place prior to project commencement.

Team management; the OM will have day to day responsibility for the operational team members within the department and will be responsible for performing the companys induction agreed induction process for new employees and undertaking appraisal processes for the team members within the department.

Tender; It is expected that the OM will support the Regional Director and Regional Sales Manager in pre-tender and tender situations where operational matters are key to success.

Sales; It is anticipated that the OM will be confident to attend sales meetings with clients, understanding their requirements and clearly communicating the information back to the appropriate department within the business. The OM will from time to time be involved with the pricing associated works outside of the main contract and ensuring orders and instructions are received prior to the commencement of works.

Post tender; when tenders have been successful it is expected that the OM will support the effective integration of contracts / projects into the business. Ensuring projects are delivered aligned to quoted expectation.

Candidate Profile:

  • Graduate level operational leader / qualified to or working towards an NVQ 4 qualification as a minimum requirement 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective team leadership skills with demonstrable operational management experience
  • Financial literate with experience of managing projects and resources aligned to budgets
  • Well presented, punctual, good mannered.
  • Good understanding of practical, technical, financial and qualitative requirements to ensure efficient and profitable implementation of a project.
  • Good working understanding of Microsoft applications (Excel particularly)
