Head Gardener/Grounds Manager

We are seeking a Head Gardener/Grounds Manager for a substantial Manor House on the Hampshire/Berkshire borders with seven acres of mixed gardens, maintained to the most exacting standards.

The grounds consist of lawns, herbaceous borders, a walled kitchen garden, with a lake and greenhouse. Leading a small team, you will be responsible for ensuring the standard of the gardens is maintained and for initiating and developing new ideas to ensure they remain fresh and interesting for the owners.

The role requires an experienced and highly capable garden professional who can demonstrate a proven track record in the management of comparable gardens. You should be proficient in the use of garden equipment, including hedge cutters, tractor and lawn maintenance machinery. We will also require a chainsaw certificate, and PA1 and PA6 spraying qualifications.

A driving licence is essential.

The role will require excellent people management skills, a positive
can-do attitude and the ability to respond flexibly to changing circumstances and preferences.
