Head Gardener

HEAD GARDENER REQUIRED.

The position of a skilled and competent Head Gardener has arisen in the County of Hampshire.

The successful applicant will possess a wide range of skills developed over at least ten years in a senior position, including general knowledge of gardening and Estate Management.

The site comprises of five acres of highly developed grounds, including many trees, shrubs, formal hedges, wildflower meadows, greenhouses, vegetables, fruit, lawns and herbaceous beds, requiring all year-round attention.

The garden is primarily organised on an organic basis.

You will be in charge of the well-being of the garden, including determining the labour needs (currently a team of one full time gardener and others working on an ad hoc basis) of the site, working in conjunction with the owners.

The garden is in the Petersfield area. A full clean driving license is essential. 

The position offers a salary of £33,000 p.a.

Pension and transport provided.

Holidays of 20 days, plus Public Holidays. Hours 8 – 5pm less 1 hour total breaks.
