The Person

You're looking for a position with room to make real decisions and an environment that will support and encourage you to take ownership of your business. You’ll want a company willing to listen to your ideas and you’ll have plenty of them; how to commercially lay out your store, what products to hold, what inspires your customers, things like that. It’s a cliché, but this is also a position for someone who’s people-orientated. That’s in part about the role being too big and too free-ranging for someone who wants to micro-manage everything and part about the culture and values the business has always had. In a nutshell, this is a job for a grown-up who wants to be treated as such.

The Role

So, this is a pretty big job. The site is a large one, selling a broad range of products and offering a place to stop for coffee or a bite to eat. The hospitality offer is on your P&L but you’ll have a Restaurant Manager for all the operational stuff. You’ll also have 3 other direct reports including a back of house manager and up to 100 other team members. Your job is to lead them, give them your time, coach them and manage the bigger picture; have that overarching vision around the look and feel of the business, make sure service is top of the class and standards are set high and maintained. You’ll have complete P&L responsibility and local marketing and running local promotions is for you to plan and implement. It’ll also be for you to manage everything else, even making sure your facilities budget and cleaning contract are in place and delivering according to plan. Essentially, it really is all yours.

The Company

The company is financially stable and confident about future trade. We are in uncertain times and, for many people, that might be enough to hear but they’re also a business that really believes in empowering their people while being on hand with support and training whenever required. Already in the budget is a plan to further develop this particular site in 2022 offering plenty of longer-term projects and challenges.

Initial interviews will be held via video with a start date envisaged as soon as possible.

Company

The business has old fashioned values, believing that a recruitment company lives and dies by the relationships it fosters. Our role is to act honestly and professionally with our clients and candidates and operate in a straightforward manner at all times. We believe that we can add value to the recruitment process only if we invest the time to develop our relationships, fully understand our client’s culture and requirements and treat our candidates as people and not commodities.

All our potential candidates are treated with honesty and respect from the moment they contact us. We recognise you have skills and attributes that may make you a dream candidate for some clients but a poor fit for others. We appreciate you have aspirations and goals and it’s our job to help you realise them. Click here to read about the promises we make in our dealings with you.

As a client you’ll benefit from a business that has invested in the latest software and databases but believes that person to person contact cannot be replaced by technology, only facilitated by it. We are prepared to take the time to really understand your business, to act as your representative to the wider market and to ensure that your culture and skill set requirements are accurately and professionally represented.
