We are excited to be working with a unique and successful plant nursery who are looking for a Horticulturalist to join their team.



About our Client

Our client is a successful plant nursery growing on nearly 5 acres in West Sussex. They grow a variety of different plants including Hardy Exotic, Architectural, Bamboo and Herbaceous. Their plants are propagated at the nursery or imported and then grown on in the UK. They are now looking for an experienced Horticulturalist to join the growing operation.



About the Role

The role will be hands-on and focus on growing high-quality plants. You will be monitoring for pest and diseases, irrigating, and maintaining glasshouse environments. You will be confident in crop husbandry and be passionate about growing high-quality plants. Customer service will also be part of the role, you will be assisting customers with sales queries over the phone or when visiting the nursery.



The Ideal Candidate

You will have a couple of years' experience working within a commercial nursery environment, although we are open on what crop you have grown in the past. You must have an interest in horticulture and interested in growing hardy exotic plants. A qualification in horticulture is ideal. You must be confident working as part of a team. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to progress within the business, so being able to listen and develop is essential.
