We are working on a very exciting opportunity with a successful grower in South Lancashire.



About the Client

Our client is the UK's largest alpine grower who is now looking for a Head Grower to join their team. They are a leading supplier of plants to UK retailers and independent garden centres. They grow and supply a wide variety of quality plants, including shrubs, perennials, and bedding. They have invested in their business and facilities to be able to produce the best quality products for their customers.



About the Role

This role will encompass growing over 700 varieties of alpines across over 20 acres. This will be a very hands-on growing, but you will also be responsible for a team of 3 other growers. You will be responsible for staff rotas, motivating the team, and ensuring they are working efficiently and productively. Pest and disease monitoring, spraying and irrigation will also fall into your remit.



The Ideal Candidate

You will have previous experience working with a commercial horticulture environment and have ideally working with alpine crops before. You will be confident in all aspects of the growing operation and be passionate about what you do. Communication skills are key, as you will be leading a team and working collaboratively with other people in the business.
