About our Client
Our client is a high-end independent garden retailer with a fabulous food offering that they are looking to expand further. They pride themselves on their customer focus, range of products and quality service. They focus on locally produced food products that offer their customers a certain je ne sais quoi. The centre is growing and with it, the reputation with locals as a great place to visit. The business and it's diversity offers a real destination centre that also has some interesting concessions that add value to their customer base and offering. The business is keen to grow further and is driven to deliver for their customers.

About the Role
This role will focus on the deli part of the garden centre and manage the food offering and product range in this area, as well as the day-to-day running of the department. You will be able to utilise your experience to deliver an exception range of food products that add value to the customers. You will be able to work with suppliers to deliver the best range of products and secure long-term relationships as the business grows. You will know how to deliver margin and the commercial side of the business as well as a fantastic range. The deli covers a variety of food categories, including meat and fish, bakery, farm produce/fruit and veg, dairy and ingredients. You will ensure the offering is first-rate as well as drive the commercial performance of the section.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of delivering an exciting range that performs commercially in a high-end food retail/garden retailer. You will be able to show your experience in working with local farmers and manufacturers to offer products that customers will love and will see real value in. You will be able to lead a team to deliver a fantastic service to the customers where the passion and enthusiasm for the products shine through. You will be able to plan promotions and ensure pricing is competitive, whilst also delivering the margins required. You will have a background in retailing and buying with a focus on quality, local food.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a proven track record in buying and retailing for a niche or high-end food outlet. You will also need to be able to lead and manage a team and be a strong communicator.

Salary
~£30-40k+ DOE
