With the expansion of our glasshouse facility and its additional staff, we are looking for an assistant to work alongside our horticultural management team.

You will be helping with the day-to -day running and supervision of staff in our small but state of the art, automated  glasshouses in our world renowned micropropagation business. Reporting directly, to the Greenhouse Manager, you will assist with all aspects of tissue cultured date palm husbandry, from the weaning stage through growing and to despatch  for the global export market.

You will have a relevant horticultural qualification ( HND or Foundation Degree level) and a sound knowledge of plant physiology and husbandry,  commercial horticulture production efficiency and quality control. The role requires good communication skills and to be a team worker but also working on your own initiative within a commercial production facility. A practical and flexible disposition is essential. Some experience with managing pests and diseases of protected crops as well as familiarity with the associated H& S regulations is important. You will need IT skills, hold a full driving licence and be willing to keep up to date with the horticultural business outside the post.
