Created by HRH The Prince of Wales nearly 40 years ago, the Royal Gardens at Highgrove are a haven for a rich variety of flora and fauna, managed in harmony with nature to reflect The Prince's commitment to organic and sustainable principles.
Working with a talented and diverse team under the direction of a Garden Team Leader, this exciting position will assist in the on-going development and management of the Kitchen Garden, nursery and greenhouse areas, satellite production areas to include soft fruit and cut flower, and the main orchard in the Garden. These are all focal areas for Highgrove, highlighted on all tours representing quality organic standards.
The successful candidate will have experience in the cultivation, planting and maintenance of plants (particularly the growing of vegetables, cut flower, soft fruit, trained and standard fruit trees) in outdoor, cold frame, and greenhouse conditions, ideally within a large private or public garden.
Recognised relevant horticultural qualification and/or experience are required. You will need a current and full UK driving licence and basic competence in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
The position is full time and involves carrying out demanding, physical tasks in all seasons and weather conditions.
