Residents Horticultural and Arboricultural Development Officer

Employer
London Borough of Hackney
Location
London (Greater)
Salary
£34,689 - £35,949
Closing date

Fixed term contract / secondment until 29 September 2022

Hackney Housing is seeking a Residence Horticulture and Arboricultural Development Officer with the passion to embrace a new exciting project surveying residents gardens and work with housing management to address green space issues and manage an ongoing tree management programme and Japanese Knotweed eradication.

Hackney Housing grounds maintenance is part of the building maintenance department, therefore a close working relationship is established with other departments involved in the development of new green spaces.

If you have a passion for maintaining, enhancing and diversifying a council’s tree stock then this is the position for you. A knowledge of our tree maintenance package (EasytreeV) is required as well as a proven track record in delivering tree maintenance.

You will work with our term contractors to plan and coordinate tree works. Time will be split equally between green space development schemes and arboriculture management, therefore this is an opportunity for an arborist looking to expand on green space development or a green space officer looking to enhance their arboriculture experience.

A recognised Arborist qualification is required.

When applying, it is essential that you include a supporting statement, addressing how your skills, knowledge and experience meet all aspects of the post, as indicated in the job description and person specification.

The recruitment process is anonymous. Please ensure that you do not include your name on any of your supporting documents or on the file attachments.

Closing date for applications: 23 November 2020
