Key Account Manager | Horticulture | £Competitive

About Our Client
Our client is a leading manufacturer, supplying commercial growers and nurseries with a variety of value-add and essential products. They work with their customers to help them produce the best quality products to sell onto key retailers, adding value to the consumers along the way. They are a well-established business and brand and have a solid reputation for quality and adding value in the supply chain. They utilise different channels to reach the market and have built strong relationships with key customers and wholesalers to ensure they reach their customers as efficiently as possible.



About the Role
This role is all about sales and commercial performance. You will utilise your experience in the commercial horticulture sector to build upon the relationships with customers and key accounts. You will be able to assess the performance of the range of products and make recommendations on pricing. You will be able to leverage relationships that you already have as well as build lasting relationships with new and existing customers. Assessing the financial performance of the range, you won't be afraid to make changes or lose business if it is losing money. This role isn't all about turnover and selling for the sake of selling, so you will need to be able to demonstrate your understanding of profitability over gross sales.



The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of delivering profitable sales to the commercial horticultural growers and nurseries. You will be able to demonstrate your credibility in the sector and be able to communicate with growers effectively. You will be able to build lasting relationships with customers and add value to them. You will be able to continually assess the rage of products on offer and improve the performance of the business. Ideally, you will have worked with key distributors as well as nurseries and commercial growers. You will have a strong understanding of the horticulture sector. You will have a strong character and be resilient to change and driving efficiencies. You will be able to build relationships with internal stakeholders to influence the performance of the business.



Minimum Requirements
In order to be considered for this role, you will need to have proven sales experience in the horticulture sector.
