Our client is a young, ambitious garden design and maintenance company based near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. They are looking for a qualified gardener who is ready to grow with the company and expanding team.
The owner established the business in 2018, to change the way gardens are created and maintained. They believe that with a friendly client relationship any space can be made better, that plants should be the focus of what they do, and that gardening is best done with a smile. The company pride themselves on personal service and high standards.
Currently a team of three, the owner is looking to grow the business to a team of eight horticulturalists over the next couple of years. The gardener will initially be working under the owner but would soon be expected to be working solo or be supervising a junior to manage maintenance work for allocated clients. The role and responsibilities of the gardener will include preparing and installing new planting schemes, dealing with clients and working to a brief, diagnosing problems with plant health checks and providing practical recommendations to clients and general maintenance of exterior planting schemes.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a level 2 horticulture qualification as well as a minimum of 2 years’ experience. PA1 and PA6 as well as CS30 / CS31 are desirable but not essential. A full UK drivers’ licence is required.
The position is full time (40 hours per week) and permanent with great opportunities for further training and development. The salary is £18,500 – £21,500 salary per annum depending on qualifications and experience plus annual leave is 28 days including bank holidays. A van is provided with the role as well as garden equipment.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take on responsibility for maintenance projects and develop their career as the company expands to meet demand in a fast-growing company.
