Plantarea Buyer/Manager

Our client family run business which has grown considerably in recent years with an ever-increasing customer base have developed hugely over the last 4 years operating with a sales turnover of approx. £3million, recognised in the industry as leaders in their field. They strive to continuously meet the expectations and demands of their customers selling a wide range of giftware, gardening ancillary products and houseplants. They are currently seeking a Plant Buyer/Manager who will work closely with the management and play an important role in the continued success of developing the Plantarea department whilst leading and motivating a team.

Job Description:

Duties and responsibilities would include the following:

• Purchasing of all plant stock and negotiating with new and existing suppliers
• Creating innovative plants displays throughout the year
• Analysing sales and taking appropriate action
• Keeping up to date with market trends and fashion in retailing
• Leading and supervising a team of staff
• Providing outstanding levels of customer sales and service
• Duty Manager as and when required

• Accurate stock control with minimum wastage
• Liaising with senior management

Key Skills:

The appointed person will possess plant purchasing skills and a desire to provide outstanding customer service with an eye for detail and creative flair for providing innovative plant displays. This position requires strong leadership skills to lead from the front and inspire others and who is not willing to accept second best. The appointed person will have excellent product knowledge and a good understanding of volume Plant Retailing whilst maintaining the highest quality and standards.
