Our client is a family run business, comprising of an independent nursery and a garden centre & café. The above position will be based in the garden centre sector of the business.  The garden centre has seen significant development and growth over the past few years and offers a wonderful range of homegrown seasonal bedding, seeds & bulbs, specimen shrubs and trees, beautiful herbaceous, as well as indoor plants. There is also an extensive range of pots, composts and a comprehensive range of gardening essentials.

Thy are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Plant Manager with a focus on seasonal & bedding plants to join their ever-growing team. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional quality and choice of plants and creating inspirational and aspirational visual displays.

Job Description:

You will be responsible for managing and leading the department ensuring that customers have a truly unique experience. They are driven to achieve the WOW factor and customer delights is their goal. You will be responsible for driving sales and profitability and achieving sales targets maintaining excellent standards throughout each changing season. The company gives staff a great sense of empowerment, so you can really make this role your own.

Key Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess experience of working in garden centres, excellent knowledge of bedding & seasonal plants, plant care and maintenance, have great interpersonal skills and customer service skills, have a creative and commercial mind, able to recognise and act on sales opportunities, have a keen eye for product placement as well as overall look and feel of the department.
