We are looking for an early career arboriculturist to join a busy staff of 4 Arboricultural and Forestry Officers within the Environmental Planning Team. You will play an important role in assessing the impact of planning applications on the Borough’s valued tree stock and in both assessing applications to undertake work on TPO’d trees and making TPO’s where appropriate. There are also additional duties including trees in Conservation Areas, High Hedges, Hedgerow Regulations and Enforcement. An ability to make site visits across the Borough is an important part of the role. You should have:

  • A relevant arboriculture related degree or diploma level qualification, supported by further professional development;
  • Practical experience of arboriculture work;
  • An understanding of the local government context and working with Councillors and members of the public;
  • Effective communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.

 

 

The job is based in Macclesfield, but you will be able to work from offices in Crewe, Sandbach and work from home as appropriate.
